Meanings :

1.
Nothing is impossible to achieve
Bala,
If only you move your eyes,
Nothing is unbearable, Bala
If you cast your glance upon me!
I can achieve anything I desire if only
You are beside me
I shall accomplish difficult tasks
If only I get your love,
If I receive your Grace.

2.
Many are the days we have searched for you, Bala
Distressed at not finding you, we have wept and longed for your presence in our lives.
Then, suddenly, one day you appeared
With a blinding flash in my dreams
You captivated me by your beauty
And clapped your hands in glee!
You came running towards me with anklets
Tinkling merrily,
And before I could open my eyes to behold you,
You vanished so quickly!
Oh, Bala, you made me cry for you!

3.
Your sweet name tastes like honey on my tongue, Bala,
Saying your name repeatedly, all sorrows fly away,
Happiness increases!
Let us sing your praises
And banish all poverty
Singing your praises continuously,
Miracles take place,
Wondrous, amazing events occur,
Superior advancements you bestow in our lives!

4.
May you fly towards me, seeking me out,
Oh mother!
Come and overpower me with your love
Grant me a state of total bliss and fulfillment
Come, shower your grace upon me
Dance beside me
Come and reside in my heart
And never move away from me!

Oh Bala, if you can only turn your glance towards me,
The impossible becomes possible to achieve!

    Meaning of this song:

    1. With boundless love and ecstasy, we shall dance!
When you are always with us, (past, present and future moments),
      We shall jump with joy
      We shall dance with happiness!
All problems will disappear in our lives.
Oh, goddess who grants us wealth and prosperity,
      Who fills my thoughts entirely,
If I’m able to understand “you”
As my very life, the real beauty within me, and as my teacher and guide,
      You will always protect me!
Oh Baalaa, the most beautiful, divine goddess in all three worlds (waking, sleeping and deep sleep states).
    2. Oh, Bala, you have given me your steady support,
Despite the many, many sufferings that have assailed me in life,
You caught my hand! (never let go of me).
“I know what happened in the past, what is happening in the present and I’m well aware of your future”, you said!
      ‘Don’t push me away”,
Don’t let go of me, you said!

Oh, goddess who is the Queen of the sacred scriptures and Vedic wisdom,
You are the primordial source of energy!
Do I have anyone but you as a refuge, or support?
Riding on your lion mount, please come in the form of Goddess, Durga,
    Most precious embodiment of compassion!

Oh Baala, you are the personification of pure existence, consciousness and bliss!
You are the wisdom and awareness within me,
Let me understand “you” within me,
    Make me melt within you,
You are the intelligence and awareness, within me!
Oh Bala, unparalleled beauty in all three worlds!

    1. Many, many are the temples, I’ve wandered to,
Many are the remedies and rituals, I’ve performed!
However, my grief remains, and problems are not solved,
The effects of my previous karma (actions) have not decreased,
My mental suffering seems to only escalate,
Physically, I’m very weak and my strength is debilitated,
      Don’t remain silent, Bala,
      Hereafter, don’t remain silent!
You will come running to me,
Please forgive me for past actions and put me on the right path,
Bala, please guide me on the right path!
Please bless me with a good life!
I shall place my head on your feet with devotion and surrender, Bala,
Oh, great light of wisdom, undivided consciousness principle,
You reside within me as that rare medicine which shall transform and heal me!
Please reside in my heart always
Grant me liberation by knowing my real identity that is not different from you!
Oh Bala, the most wondrous beauty in all three worlds!

    4.
    To perceive you “everywhere”,
To always be aware of your presence,
May I contemplate on you continuously,
    Without distractions in my mind,
May I constantly worship you with undivided devotion,
Ignorant fool that I am, yet you embrace me lovingly
My mother, the goddess loved by Lord Shiva!
Despite the many mistakes I’ve made, please
Embrace me, transform me and take over me completely!
Revealing your true nature within me,
    Reside in my heart center
As the dawning glory of wisdom,
You are the most precious, divine child goddess,
The most invincible beauty in all three worlds!!

    Auspicious Finale.

May we all hold on with total faith at Sri Bala’s feet,

Read: English Meanings of Sri Bala Aruliya Sri Bala Swayamvara Kaappu

    Thursday, November 14th, 2024.

Sri Bala has blessed us all today with a song of protection for those facing difficulties in getting married. It is a song that safeguards us from all obstacles either in the horoscopes or those hurdles caused by unnecessary superstitious beliefs that prevent true love from fruition.

This song is especially directed towards two young adults who have persevered in loving each other over the last ten years, despite objections from respective families that have prevented them from getting married. While horoscopes did not match, the true love they shared, and their faith and loyalty have been rewarded by Sri Bala. This Divine, Loving Child has decreed that the young couple will finally get married, with parental acceptance. And, this hymn of protection is all they need to face challenges and difficulties in life, even if they are subject to unkind planetary positions in the birth charts.

It is important to hold on to Sri Bala with supreme and total faith. She, as the most compassionate Mother, will take care of all of us in this life.
A daily recital of this sacred hymn, dictated by Sri Bala herself, will surely get rid of all the stumbling blocks in our lives and grant a long, happy and successful marriage!

The term “Swayam Vara” emphasizes the importance of ensuring “free” and unhindered choice of soul mate either for a girl or boy. True Love and faith in Bala are all that matters.

English Meanings of Sri Bala Aruliya Guru Poornima Paadalgal

    Santoshi Ma Bala
Sri Bala Aruliya Guru Poornima Paadalgal | Uma Kumar (2023)

    Om Sri Bala Charanam.

On the eve of Guru Purnima, July 12th, 2022, Sri Bala blessed me to
write this wonderful set of 31 verses that she has titled as “Sri Bala
    Aruliya Guru Purnima Paadalgal”.

These mystical and seemingly simple Tamil words, coming directly from
Sri Bala set forth the highest wisdom of the oneness between Jeeva and
    Paramatma.

These words of pure love, longing and yearning to reach Sri Bala and sit
on her blessed lap, gives us a glimpse of both her unconditional love for
us as well as highlights the mental purity we should strive to possess in
order to even come closer to the supreme Godhead!

I wrote eleven verses of four lines each, on July 12th, 2022. Although I
speak and read Tamil, I have never before attempted to write any prose
or poetry in this divine language. So, it was with some trepidation I sat
down, with a notebook and pen in hand.

Sri Bala had instructed me to write verses in her praise. I hardly knew
where to start. I need not have feared. The moment I wrote Sri Bala
Charanam, words began to flow. Within a short space of time, eleven
verses were complete. She instructed me to finish the work the following
day, July 13th, 2022, which was actually Guru Purnima.

I had no idea how many verses would flow from Her Divine mouth, nor
how many days I would sit and write this work.

After a few more verses had been completed on July 13th, I realized
there would be 31 verses and the last set of verses from Verse 23 up to
31 would be her Viswaroopa Darshan.

She had asked me to write down on a slip of paper the Tamil words for
knees, legs and feet or Paadam.

The majesty of these would be described in the last few verses. The
ornaments, she wears with great delight, her role as the supreme creator
principle containing within herself this entire universe and all other
    deities have also been described.

These sacred verses have been given to all of us directly by Bala to
ensure all her devotees attain wisdom, maturity to handle the
vicissitudes of life and particularly to attain that oneness with her during
our lifetime. The fear of death vanishes when she is beside us holding
our hands. No disease or harm can come near when she provides us
the good health and inner strength to bear all the outcomes in life.
Right at the beginning, in verse two, she indicates the advaitic
philosophy of oneness with her, achieved through loving her!

Reaching Her is a result of cultivating firm belief and complete surrender
at Her feet. In other words, accepting with unquestioning faith that all
events, good or bad, are given to us to bear for our spiritual growth and
evolution on the path leading to her.

In verse 7, the unique power of uttering her mantra is mentioned. The
word, Baala, has a mystical and tremendous power that has to be
    experienced to understand!

Sri Bala has spoken about the impact of praying for those who are
undergoing suffering of any kind. This compassion, warmth and caring
are all important steps in making our hearts pure.

When we fill our hearts with that innocent and pure love, Sri Bala comes
to sit in our very own house, in the altar and talks to us in our minds!
It seems to me that these simple sounding verses written in easy flowing
Tamil pack the highest philosophy and indeed reveals the secret path
leading to visualizing and manifesting Her in our minds and hearts!
She is pervading this entire universe; She knows all of us and our
    karmas in entirety!

In verse 12, she removes our fears of loneliness by promising to be at
our side at our last moments!

She reminds us of the transient nature of relationships and material
pleasures and points out She alone is our eternal support!

In fact the continuous refrain (Om Sri Bala, jaya jaya Bala, eppodhum,
ennidam irunthidum Bala) – indicates just that! She is always within us!
She is that kundalini shakthi (verse 16). She can bestow various siddhis.
However, warns us even these are temporary. We have to go beyond all
    this to reach her feet!

In verses 17 and 18, she reiterates the cycle of birth and death will
continue endlessly unless we attain jnana or the wisdom to know our
    true nature!

Not all the things we crave and desire in this worldly life are necessarily
beneficial. She alone is the goal to be attained!

In verse 19, is there is a request from us as loyal and true devotees to
breathe our last breath lying on her lap! This is an indication of merging
completely within Her so we are liberated from future births!

In verse 22, she indicates Her presence within us as the Divine glow of
Shakthi or pure energy. All other deities are but mere reflections of Her!
She is our very heart beat, and every beat of the pulse cries out Her
name Bala! You are within me!

Verses 23 to 31 indicate her Viratswaroopam.

While each verse is unique, my favorite is verse 28! The imagery she
has given here is that we are all the tiny gold dots that glisten like stars
in the deep blue skirt she wears.

Like a huge Kolam or pattern, she links all of us and raises us to her
    abode!

The final verse has to be read as printed. A few lines have to be read
three times. She has indicated her preference for white jasmine as well
as pink, sweet smelling roses to be used in her worship.

Dear Sri Bala, who has so much compassion, has provided these
wonderful set of 31 verses to elevate each and every one of us so we
can eternally shine as the ornaments she wears!

Let us all dive into this ocean of sweet nectar, get relief from all our
sorrow and distress and fill our hearts with that permanent bliss which is
    Sri Bala!

Read the verse and listen to the audio: Sri Bala Aruliya Guru Poornima Paadalgal

    Verse 1

O Sri Bala, the very essence of Pranava or the
    cosmic, life force!

I offer my humble salutations at your victorious feet!
You are eternally with me and within me, as my very life breath.
You are my Guru as well as a Divine little child who takes great
    delight in playing with me.

Many a mischievous prank does Sri Bala play in all our lives.
Many are the mystical wonders and miracles does she perform.
She laughs at our wonderment since it is but a sport for Her.

To such a Divine child, Bala, who is ever present in my life, I
    offer my salutations!

    Verse 2

O Sri Bala whose eyes are brimming with love and
    compassion,

You are always reassuring me, “ I will protect you; I will always
    be beside you, shielding you!

You are not different from me; I am within you and You are
    within me”.

This lofty philosophical, Vedantic truth about the “oneness” of
the Jeeva and Paramatma, Shri Bala reveals to us in these
    very simple Tamil words.

She makes us aware that wherever we go, she will come with
us as a constant companion and supreme guide and teacher!
Indeed, she protects us and nurtures us at all times!

These first two verses reveal the highest philosophy of the
Upanishads. Yet, almost like the play of a child, Sri Bala makes
us aware of this union with her in a simple manner.

    Verse 3

I will arise in your mind in the form of thoughts and
through you, this song will be born, says Shri Bala.
Shri Bala is the creator of this entire universe. On her lap sits
Maha Ganapathi who removes all the obstacles on our path to
    enter the spiritual realm.

Maha Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth is seated on Shri Bala’s
right thigh! With a mere glance, she grants us all our boons and
bestows worldly riches. Yet, her very glance transforms us from
within and makes us aware that the ultimate goal in life is to
seek union with Bala through loving her!

In short, Bala is the creator of this Universe. She is all
pervading and existent in this whole creation. All other deities
like Maha Ganapathi and Maha Lakshmi, reside within Her!

    Verse 4

Sri Bala has blessed us with this song for the sole
reason that I should ever and always be seated at her blessed
feet, immersed in Her mantra japam and constantly singing Her
    praises!

My very beloved Bala, you have transformed even an ignorant
person like me and enabled me to write poems in your praise!

    Verse 5

“I shall dictate this song and you write it down”. This
loving command was given by Bala and indeed on the
auspicious day of Guru Purnima, this song was given!

Whosoever sings these verses with true devotion and love shall
reach me, in my own special world, where they shall
permanently reside with me, says Bala.

    Verse 6

I shall place my head beneath her sacred feet, so I
    can receive her blessings!

Sri Bala who is ever present at my heart center, showers her
    blessings on all of us!

May all your manifold desires and actions get fulfilled by Sri
Bala’s grace because it is only with her blessings and grace we
can even approach Her and seek for her love!

The importance of our karmic actions influencing our current
status is highlighted here! It is only with Bala’s permission and
blessings that we can get closer to Her!

    Verse 7

The very word “Bala” is a very powerful mantra that we should constantly chant in our minds so that it becomes our very breath itself!

When Bala is constantly in our thoughts and minds, she will
constantly guide us in all our actions. She will take her
permanent abode in the lotus center of our heart and dance
delightfully, revealing her true self in everything in this world.

In other words, Bala pervades all the animate and inanimate
objects in this universe, including in the space between them.
She is immanent in every blessed aspect of creation.

Verse 7 is indeed a reflection of the highest truths or
mahaVakiyam of the Upanishads that establishes the oneness
between individual souls and the ever present and all
pervading Atman or Supreme consciousness. Sri Bala is ever
present within us as that awareness principle. The ever present
witness of our thoughts and actions.

    Verse 8

Whenever people around you, in your orbit are
stricken with grief, suffering, ill health or going through a
downturn in their lives, if you sing this song given by Bala, with
true and heartfelt love compassion , I shall embrace these
suffering people , hold them close to me and give them a better
    path in life!

And, when those who are in distress are at the end of their
lives, I shall bring them closer to me in my own shining world.
Verse 8 points out very clearly that we are linked to various
people in the course of our lives and this has been pre
determined. So too, our karmic burdens determine if this
current life we lead is the final one before liberation.

However, when our lives are enriched by Bala, we gain the
wisdom and discrimination to be firmly placed on the spiritual
path and this in turn brings the cycle of birth and death to an
end. We shall reach our final destination which is Sri Bala!

    Verse 9

Powerful words in this verse as the Divine Child self
proclaims nothing can match or compare with songs in praise
of her, as a means of attaining Her Grace.

Bala says here that when you pray to her with utmost, heartfelt
sincerity and love, she will be so happy and pleased that she
will shower you with whatever your desires are. In fact, Bala
says “will I ever discard or disregard those who come and bow
at my feet with such great respect and sing hymns in praise of
    me?”

“All you need is LOVE, to reach me”, says Bala. This seems
easy and simple enough. However, not many have love and
compassion towards humanity. We must have compassion for
those who are suffering, help those who are downtrodden and
in despair. Only by sowing the seeds of love can Bala sow
within us the seeds of transformation so we can gain a pure
mind. For, it is only those pure, loving and helpful souls who are
    dearest to Bala!

Divinity is love and only through Love you can reach Bala.
Once you achieve this pure state of existence, I shall come and
play with you, says Bala. The word “play” or “Lela” is especially
significant for those who have experienced the various
mischievous ways in which Bala continuously tests our faith
and our true love for her!

    Verse 10

I came to sit in your puja room. When you light the
lamps in the altar, I shall talk through the tongues of flickering
flames! I shall talk and You will be aware of this!

Indeed, this is a miracle Bala has performed in my puja room at
home. She has transformed the holy space into her temple and
through the crackling sounds of the flickering lamps, many a
message has Bala sent me. However, for this to happen, one
should be able to resonate at a higher frequency.

A very selfish, materialistic person will not be able to grasp the
    significance of this verse.

From that day when she entered my house, until the present,
She is the one who speaks to me. You are indeed my loving
mother as well as my loving child, O Sri Bala!

    Verse 11

I see everything and everyone in this world. I am
the omnipresent one! I know what people are thinking as well
as their actions. Indeed, bala is saying here that we cannot
hope to deceive Her by confessing to love her when we do not!
It is only when you totally and truthfully yearn for Her love,
when you are totally engrossed in her thought at all times, can
you come closer to her and hope to surrender at her feet.

For those few, fortunate souls who have truly surrendered at
her feet, bala promises that they will surely attain her (world). At
the end of their lives, such blessed souls will most certainly
    reach me, proclaims Bala!

    Verse 12

What a beautiful and powerful verse this is!

Having experienced the presence of Bala in Turiya state, I can
certainly vouch that this verse 12, stands out as a gem in this
set of 31 verses that Bala has given for our appreciation,
delight and in order to bless us all.

At night, when you are all alone, she says, “I will come and
sleep beside you. I shall never desert you for a single moment.
I am there for you during both the waking state as well as the
sleep state. Beyond this, in your dream state too, I am guarding
    you from those frightening nightmares!

When you have no one to confide in, when you don’t have a
single friend in this world you can trust, I am there for you!
Treat me as someone SPECIAL, and I will make you close to
me. I will hold your hands when you are afraid “.

This is so true! Many times, I have experienced her physical
presence in bed beside me. So many times I have felt those
soft and tender little hands clasp mine with love!

During those moments when I could not see you, Bala, I have
cried out in great distress, pain and anguish. Yet, you came
running, skipping towards me, with your anklets jingling a merry
tune! Indeed, I could hear you skipping with delight, jumping
into my arms and holding me tight!

Similarly, at the end of my life on earth, will you not come, with
these same anklets jingling? Will you not come skipping and
hopping, remove all traces of fear from me, hold my hand and
lead me to your shining world?

In fact, you will take me with you. There is neither doubt nor
fear in my mind. It is a definite statement made with that certain
and true knowledge that when one yearns for Bala so much,
She will surely be with you always!

    Verse 13

Many are the wondrous, incredulous and
miraculous experiences you have given me, O Bala!
You are my Special Goddess, my teacher and my Guru.

Therefore, if I say you are everything to me, these words are
not in excess as mere words pale into insignificance before
your matchless glory that can only be experienced, never
    spoken about!

Oh Bala, you are my life, my breath and my end (goal) in this
    world!

    Verse 14

Yet again, a seemingly simple verse that packs in a
    lot of meaning!

Sri Bala makes us contemplate the highest philosophical truths
regarding worldly relationships and the true value of material
possessions. The truth is that everything in this world that we
crave or desire can never give long lasting or infinite happiness.
The reason is that all things of the material world are subject to
decay and will perish at some point. So, it seems we run after
worldly pleasures, trying to get that permanent happiness when
by their very finite nature, these objects are limited in value!

Sri Bala wants us to understand that this unconditional love we
expect from other human beings can never be obtained.
Indeed, she is the only source of happiness. Completely
surrendering at Her feet , with pure love is the only sure way of
    remaining blissfully and eternally happy!

Bala says “I am the eternal source of creation. Only I am
capable of granting you that love and happiness you crave! I
am everything in this creation. Come towards me and hold my
hands. I shall guide you step by step into my shining world. I
shall never desert you nor abandon you. Come to me, walk with
me. That Heavenly abode is also within me!

Here is a promise from Bala that she will take care of us not
only in this lifetime but also in the after world after our bodies
drop! However, the only condition is that we approach her with
love and not for mere fulfillment of worldly desires!

    Verse 15

Oh Bala, can I ever forget that memorable night
when you appeared before me, stroked my cheek, held my
hands and assured me of your love by giving me an embrace?
You promised me then that you would never leave me; you
    would eternally be with me!

How can I ever forget that marvelous sojourn into your abode,
Shri Bala? You made it seem so simple to enter your shining
    world where no negativities exist.

Indeed, you have entered our household as my first
    granddaughter.

The very essence of this verse is to highlight the pure love and
innocence which children possess, something we tend to lose
as we grow up into adulthood. Sri bala exists eternally as a little
child in our hearts and all She expects from us is only that
unconditional attitude of surrender and love devoid of
    expectations!

    Verse 16

Oh Shri Bala, you are indeed that Kundalini Shakthi
or Para Shakthi who resides within all of us. The Siddhars
worshipped Bala as Vaalai or a young girl, which was just a
personification of this Divine power existent within all human
    beings.

This dormant power that is latent within us, will be activated
automatically at the right moment in our lives, based on our
karmic past. From personal experience, I can reveal that this
power was “awakened” within me in the year 2011 through a
series of electrifying experiences that made me totally aware “I”
was not this body and form!

Many, were the wondrous sights I witnessed and sounds I
heard and holy people that I met in this transcendental state!
All I was aware of was my body was undergoing many
changes, each and every cell being rewired so I could be a
vehicle capable of transmitting Sri Bala’s grace!

Astonishing as these sequence of events were, every time I
would step back and look at myself objectively to see if there
was any transformation at the mental level!

Finally, I understood that disregarding the magical powers or
siddhis one might acquire along the way ( clairvoyance, ability
to fly, mind reading, etc), none of these were important!

What is significant is that our minds should be rejuvenated.
Compassion, caring, warmth and love towards all and a helping
    attitude is important!

So, in this verse, Bala is expressing just this! She says, Only I
am permanent, hold on to me. Do not get distracted by powers
and siddhis or the riches associated in this material world!

This truth you have told me, Shri Bala. Crores of prostrations
    at your holy feet!

    Verse 17

In this verses, Bala is reiterating that your body or
this human life is impermanent. Nothing in this world is
permanent as they are all transient, subject to decay and will
    certainly perish over time.

Bala alone is the Real power, the substratum or pure
consciousness that empowers all of us! Just as the stage in a
theatre provides the base on which actors dance, sing and act
out their roles, so too in this life, we are all carrying out various
roles, supported and blessed by Her!

Hence, let go of all your worldly worries, petty problems and
    expectations!

Hold on to my feet, says bala! Surrender at my feet will remove
    all your misery and unhappiness.

Bala does not say that by coming to her we will become happy,
miraculously. What we have to clearly understand is that
coming to bala, becoming pure in mind, will give us the wisdom
to accept the ups and downs of life.

We will gain the detachment to meet life’s many challenges
without getting disheartened. Finally, in the end, we will be able
to enter Her Shining world and reside permanently with her,
escaping from the cycle of birth and death!

So, at the end of this verse, Bala says, “ believe me and hold
on to my feet. I will ensure you are eternally happy in my
    world”!

    Verse 18

In this verse, Sri Bala reminds us that not all we
desire for or want fulfilled in our lives, are necessarily for our
    benefit!

She says “I can hear your manifold prayers, requests and
wishes. However, granting all that you crave for or fulfilling all
your desires is not always beneficial for you”!

Indeed, Bala as the supreme Creator, knows the grand master
plan exactly as it must unfold in our lives. Of course, we do
have our free will and must strive to put in our efforts to reach
our goals. However, belief in Bala and surrendering at her feet
will ensure that only those goals that are good for us will
    fructify, with her grace.

In fact, Bala reminds us in this verse that even our belief in Her
and our attempts in reaching Her are not solely acts of our free
will, but it is only with her grace and our good karma that we
    can even approach Her!

Once again, Shri Bala reminds us all to accept the outcomes in
life as Prasad am or holy offerings from her and take these
outcomes without grumbling, or getting angry with her!

After all, if we didn’t have downturns and calamities in life,
would we ever think of God or develop a spiritual attitude?

    Verse 19

This verse brings out the common mistake many of
us make in not realizing the awesome power of Sri Bala. Most
of us might think that approaching a Child Goddess is easier, or
that Her sadhana is very simple. She is after all a little child
who loves songs in her praise and sweet chocolates as
    neivedyam or offerings!

Yet, as we approach this little child, who smiles at us
affectionately yet, mischievously, we are awestruck by the fact
that this child is indeed the creator of the entire universe!
All other deities exist within her!

The planets are at her feet and the five elements are indeed
her creation. This aspect of Her viswaroopam is at once
    humbling and astonishing!

Also, it is a reminder to approach Bala with caution and pure
    love!

Here is a Goddess who grants boons within a twinkling of a
second. Yet, if She is displeased with you for some reason,
your requests may never, ever be granted!

Everything with Bala is spontaneous! She gives her love
spontaneously; she can also vanish from you without trace!

Hence, Sri Bala, I understand your full significance as a loving
child and mother, as a Guru and my guide!

    Without you, I am nonexistent!

My only wish is to breathe my last breath lying on your lap!

This boon, I ask of you, my Divine mother! Please grant this to
    me!

    Verse 20

Many decades ago, almost like a playful prank, you
asked me to start drawing and painting.

Later, you told me “ Don’t forget, I alone, gave you this ability to
depict various deities through your paintings! All those paintings
    belong to me”!

Without questioning, I gave away all my (your) precious work
so they could always be with you in Nemili.

I thought I understood you that day, many years ago, SRI Bala.
However, it is only today I comprehend fully the vast and deep
affection you have for me and how you have taken me step by
step with such great compassion, so I can hear your voice!

You have never abandoned me. You have always given me the
confidence to move ahead in life despite many challenges. You
have protected me from harm and distractions along the
spiritual path and today, you have made me your true
instrument through whom others can hear your Divine glory!

    Verse 21

This is a powerful verse which teaches us to be
detached in life to both insults as well as praise from others!

When Shri Bala is my guide, I will not be mentally disturbed or
upset by people around me speaking ill of me or gossiping
behind my back. If I am focused solely on Bala and have firm
faith, I will never be affected by the harsh, hurtful words from
family members or people around me.

The world might laugh and mock at me, family can shun me,
those whom I think are my friends prove to be false as they are
seeking to fulfill their own agenda using me!

Bala inside me is aware of everything! She brings some people
to me and takes a few others away. Those who are truly
sincere and good, Bala makes them stay on for a while. Those
who have evil intentions towards me, Bala disposes them off
permanently, especially, if they have not paid heed to her many
    warnings.

The main take away from this verses is that once you truly
come to Bala, you might never know the true intentions or
character of people around you. All you have to do is to stay
rooted in Bala. She will protect you, ward off all dangers and
remove those evil people from your path!

No harm can reach you, wicked people will never cross your
path, no calamity can befall you if Bala is within you!

    Verse 22

When I wrote down this verse, I was doing it almost
mechanically since it was being “dictated” by Sri Bala.
However, today, when I’m writing down the meanings, I am
completely blown away by the significance of these lines and
completely overwhelmed by the fact that Bala has revealed
    regarding the “oneness” with myself!!!

She is that Jyothi or light glowing inside me. She is the Truth
that manifests as Goddess bhuvaneshwari, kaali or Karumaari!
In fact, all these deities have guided me in the early stages
through visions and in dreams. It took me a long time to
understand they were all just projections of Shri bala!

People in this world may never truly understand me nor see
that glowing splendor of Bala who is within me! Yet, none of
this bothers me. I do not pay heed to the reactions of people in
this world, because She is there, at all times within me!

You are there within me Bala, whispering in my ears “You are
    that Bala whom you love”!

You are Me! This is the greatest truth Bala revealed to me on
    gurupoornima day, July 13th, 2022!

When the deity you worship becomes one with you, is there
anything else you need? Is there any need for further
    confirmation?

This verse gives hope and strength to a lot of fellow spiritual
seekers like myself who are trying to develop one pointed
concentration to the external forms they love so dearly!
    Om Sri Bala!

VERSE 23 to 31 ( Sri Bala viswaroopam).

    Verse 23

To witness the glory of Sri Bala’s viswaroopam or
Her entire form, encompassing the whole creation, all one has
to do is to meditate on Sri Bala’s form as a child, in the ajna
center. This spot, in the center of the two eyes is a mystical
place, a doorway to her shining world!

As we drink in the beauty of this Divine child, starting from her
hair, the adorable forehead, the lustrous face, sparkling eyes
and that enigmatic smile on her lips, one is carried away
completely into Her world. As we gaze into her deep,
fathomless eyes, we lose complete consciousness!

It is here that the mystical journey begins!

Even as we melt into the blackness of her eyes, like the kaajal
or black eye liner she has used, Bala opens her lips ever so
slightly. Her bright, white and pearly teeth seem to be revealed
slowly as her smile widens! What wonders can she show us?

    Verse 24

As our gaze shifts down from her wondrous face
and comes down the slender, stalk-like neck, the first thing we
see are the string of pearls Bala wears around her neck. In fact,
Sri Bala’s favorite necklace is that made of pearls! Shining like
the eternal Truth, these pearls teach us the importance of being
in total sync with our thoughts, words and deeds! Leading a
truthful life and loving Bala can get rid of the most stubborn
Karmas we have accumulated in past lives!

The next ornament to embellish her chest is a rope of
    precious, green, emeralds!

These shining gems remind us that purity of mind and actions,
alone, can enable us to get closer to Bala. Indeed, many a
mischievous trick does she play to keep us near her!

    Verse 25

The different colored gem bracelets that this Divine
child wears on her hands, seem to compete with each other to
seek her attention! The many bangles adorning her hands rub
against each other as Bala jumps and runs around, jingling a
merry tune. Visualizing this child decorated in all her ornaments
and running towards us, bracelets singing happily, will surely
usher in all happiness and fulfillment in our lives!

Encircling her tiny waist is a shining, golden belt with dainty
bells dancing and swaying to and fro as Bala happily dances in
    our hearts!

Almost, as if She is asking us “shall we dance together, you
    and!?”

Blessed indeed are we to see Her in our mind’s eyes!

    Verse 26

Once again, our gaze turns upwards to Her divine
face! We can now see clearly, the diamond-studded jimikis she
wears in her ears, moving ever so slightly as she turns her
    head!

The Jimikkis or ear drops are joined to her earrings and in turn
these are linked to the hair above by a row of upright, ruby
    embellished chain called maattal!

It seems that these maattals which are instrumental in keeping
the earring from drooping down due to the heavy weight of the
earrings are symbolic of raising all mortal souls, and taking us
    higher, closer to Bala!

This Divine child whose beauty and glory can never be
described, bears the sun and moon in her tresses! In fact, She
reminds us that all the five elements are Her creations. The
universe, planetary system and Pancha boothams (space, air,
fire, water and earth) all exist in her!

    Verse 27

Like a tumultuous waterfall, her dark black braid falls
over Bala’s left shoulder and tumbles down rapidly only to have
a soft landing on Her divine lap, bound by the tassels that hold
    them back!

Bala proclaims that all those pure and good souls who are
fortunate to be seated on her lap (those whom she loves the
most), will surely sparkle, eternally as the splendid ornaments
    she chooses to wear!

In other words, those who are pure at heart and mind are
blessed by Bala and shall shine like her stars (ornaments) in
    Her shining world!

    Verse 28

In this verse, the imagery of stars shining in a dark,
blue sky is compared to the little gold dots that embellish the
deep blue pavadai or skirt worn by the Divine Child. While
telling us that those whom she loves will adorn her like
ornaments, Sri Bala, in this verse brings us all together and
links us with her in a very intricate pattern (manner)!

Bala’s devotees are compared to the shiny , gold dots on her
skirt. Sri Bala links us all together and brings us up to connect
with Her, ultimately. In other words, there is no gap or space
    between individual jeevas and her!

    We are all within Her!

Her face glowing like the early morning, rosy hue of dawn, Sri
Bala gives Her assurance in this verse that She will never
forasake those who have surrendered completely at Her feet!

    Verse 29

In this verse, the significance of the divine child’s
knees are highlighted. Bala’s tender, soft and delicate knees
are covered and hidden from view by her billowing skirt. Just as
the knees and legs support us to stand and move, Sri Bala
endows us all with the Kriya shakthi so our thoughts, intentions
and speech can be converted into action with Her blessings!

As we get closer to Bala, She always tests us to see if our love,
faith and surrender in her is firm and unshakeable! Once, she is
satisfied of our unconditional Love, we shall always be with her
in this lifetime and in the after world!

    Verse 30

With Her two, tender feet, Sri Bala supports this
    entire Universe!

She is the giver of good health, energy and strength so our
physical bodies can carry out good actions in this world!

In fact, by worshipping and loving Bala, all our stubborn
diseases, afflictions (both physical and mental) fade away and
    melt, with her grace!

    Verse 31

In this final verse, the benefits of worshipping Bala
    has been mentioned.

Some words and lines have been written down exactly as She
told me to put them down.

The first and most important gain in worshipping Bala is for
those who are trying to have progeny, Sri Bala herself will be
    born in their family!

Surrendering at Her feet will also surely ensure that Bala will
enter your house and be enthroned in your puja altar!
Worshipping Her with the flowers she loves, white, sweet
smelling jasmine and pink, roses will confer all the boons you
have been craving for. All the good things of life will come to
you. Success in education, fame, wealth, good children,
material pleasures and wisdom will be showered on those who
are loyal and firm devotees of Bala!

Being in Her presence removes all obstacles and hurdles in life!

Nool Payan: Beneficial Results of this song.

Singing this set of 31 verses every Thursday, with
devotion and happiness ensures that Sri Bala will
Shower us with bountiful good fortune. All our
desires will be fulfilled and all our requests will be
    granted!

    This is the Truth!

    Her grace, has been completed.

    OM SRI BALA CHARANAM

Sri Bala Aruliya Sri Bala Navagraha Navarathna Maalai

Shri Bala as Sahasrara – by Uma Kumar
Sri Bala Navagraha Navarathna Maalai | Uma Kumar (2022)

Read: English meanings for Sri Bala Aruliya Sri Bala Navagraha Navarathna Maalai

    Introduction.
On November, 7th, 2022, I was instructed by Bala to write a composition which She has titled “Sri Bala Navagraha, Navarathna Maalai”.
This song is set to the tune of the famous work on Devi entitled “ Om Matha Jaya Om Lalithaambikaye”.
All these loving commands were given to me in a matter of a few seconds one evening and I wrote most of the verses the following day, although the final three verses came after a gap of nearly five days. She indicated the delay was due to the obstacles placed by planet Rahu. This period was over by November 12th and I finished the song.
Finally, it is only today, November 15th, 2022, that She has given me the time to type up this wonderful task. Sri Bala’s message in this piece of work is very clear. By completely surrendering at her feet, the disturbances and malefic influences of the planetary transits will be greatly minimized. Complete faith in Bala is sufficient to provide far more beneficial effects compared to wearing gemstones associated with each planet!
Astrologers often advise caution during the major transits of Jupiter, Rahu, Ketu, Saturn, etc and suggest remedial measures which often involve visits to the specific temples associated with the respective planets or wearing, close to the skin, gemstones that increase the positive impacts of certain planets.
However, in this composition, Sree Bala assures us that She herself controls all the planets and by surrendering at Her precious feet, her protection is guaranteed.
This song containing nine sections, is dedicated to the Nine significant planets that dominate and influence our horoscopes. A daily reading of these verses is sure to give us Sree Bala’s grace and protection.
Finally, this work should be regarded as Sree Bala’s “gift” to all mankind to remove all our problems and make our lives more productive in Her service.

Sri Bala Aruliya ‘Sahasra Asthothram’ Meanings

    Om Sree Baala Charanam.
With Sri Bala’s grace, I shall attempt to provide the meanings for the 1,008 lines dictated by Bala to me. Please note that many words are in a mixture of tamil and Sanskrit and several sections refer to the esoteric method of yantra worship. I shall appeal to Bala to reveal the meanings as I do not have a knowledge of Sanskrit. I simply wrote down the words as they flowed.
Everything, including these meanings are orchestrated and planned by Bala. I shall surrender to her grace.
    Om Gurubyoh namaha
    Om ganeshaaya namaha
    Om Jaya, Jaya, Bala!

Read: Sri Bala Aruliya Sahasra Ashtotram (audio included)

    Section 1- 100.
The section starts with the Pranavam, “Om” and ends with the word “Potri” which signifies praise or respect.
I am giving meanings only to the attributes or concepts expressed here. Hence, I will not be using Om as the prefix or Potri at the end of each line. This document is solely to help those who do not have knowledge of Tamil, to recite the sahasra ashtothram, using the audio I have made, along with the English transliteration. The meanings provide a deeper understanding of the ideas Sree Bala wishes us to learn and grasp.

Om, you exist in the form of Sree Bala Ganapathi, I praise you!
You are an aspect of the great wisdom of Lord Ganesha
You came into this world, floating down a river
You entered the village of Nemili
O Bala, you came in my dream and gave me a vision in the form of brilliant light
You gave me a promise there was no difference between both of us! This is the truth
O bala , who gave me a vision of yourself, both as a beautiful child as well as an old woman!
Oh Bala, even though I’m totally inadequate, you united me with you!
Perhaps, being with you is a result of the past good deeds I’ve done (?)
Through dreams, you entered my heart as a young child
You have given me a promise you will never forsake or leave me
You told me you are the goddess, Kanya Kumari, or the eternal , youthful, deity
You gave me talent, yet cut away my arrogance and ego
You told me to hold your hand firmly, whenever I was beseeched by worries and troubles
O goddess who called and pulled me to your side at Nemili
You made your residence a temple and performed many miracles there!
You made me revel in the magic of your songs and always think about you with love
You made the “I” thought slowly disappear inside me and allowed me to merge with you
You made me swim in the sea of bliss which is your grace
You made me understand that listening to your songs will give me mental peace
Even though my problems might never get resolved, yet you pulled me closer to yourself!
You came in my dreams as the female deity, ruler of all snakes!
To the surprise of my Guru, you hastened to my side, so swiftly
Through the medium of dreams, many an advice have you given me
You gave me the encouragement to draw many, many forms of shakti goddesses
You instructed me to write about you and your miracles for the world to look upon you, in awe and wonder
Very lovingly, you asked me to fashion several, colorful mandapams for you to sit!
Within 13 days, with your grace, you completed this task, dear child
You made me experience the non-duality between yourself and Shirdi Sai Baba
You insisted that wherever I travelled, you would come ahead of me and take me by hand!
You made me see your reflection in all living beings
You made me go mad by playing numerous mischievous tricks on me
Captivated by your alluring beauty, I surrendered at your tiny feet
Before I could realize I was being tormented by problems or worries, you removed them so swiftly
You gave me the strength and knowledge to perform and achieve many tasks
You told me nothing was impossible when I had you by my side
You said you would point out those people who had evil intentions towards me
You made me come across many mystics and wise people who imparted a lot of philosophical truths
You saved me from many, many dangers and protected me by preventing them from happening!
You removed many imposters from my path, who pretended to befriend me but meant me a lot of harm
You gave me the skill to draw, later write about your miracles and completely transformed me
You revealed that the Vedantic truth of non-duality is to experience you as an undivided whole, within myself
You promised me you will sit lovingly in each word I write or say!
Oh, truthful one, you made me have unshakeable faith in you!
You told me none of us can ever know the secrets of rebirth
You promised me that regardless of whether I take rebirth or not, I will never forget you!
You advised me never to visit fake gurus since they would use fear to control people
You gave me the truthful promise that you would be ever present in my mind and fill my heart completely, without leaving even a tiny gap
Oh, Divine Mother, you have granted me the good fortune to write thousand tributes in praise of you!
You reminded me that expressing gratitude is very important and to not forget this
You made me understand the significance of saying Thank You to you!
You have made me accomplish many tasks in the last twenty years
You gave me the courage and strength and made me realize your presence within me
Even though people around me didn’t give me respect, you held onto my hand and never let go
She showed me many wondrous sights!
You have come running towards me and catching hold of my hands, played the “whirling around” game called “thattaamaalai”
Later, getting tired of spinning around, you sat on my lap and took food
You told me I was not yet ready to glimpse her face. Wait patiently, you told me
I didn’t even think of “asking” her anything!
Never did it strike me to ask Bala for material things like money or good fortune
Bala, speaks within me. The very first thought in my mind is hers
She told me to write this litany of thousand praises, I was amazed
Who wrote this work within 6 days; Me? Or Her?
Words flowed like never ending waves in the ocean; I wrote and wrote; only my hand was getting tired!
She hid the lines from 201 to 300
I realized this was yet another of her mischievous pranks
She made me feel I had finally accomplished the task, but hid 100 lines from me
I did an audio of what I thought was 1008 verses. I finished, heaved a sigh of relief
Then, she told me with a laugh that I had not written down lines 201 to 300 at all!
It was Ganesh Chaturthi day. She told me to pray to the Lord . I did as she told me. The compassionate Ganesha removed all obstacles, at Bala’s command
I’m writing over 100 lines in this section. You will understand this was all bala’s trick
Everything is a fun sport for Bala
So, why should this work be any different?
She made me write. She is present in the words; She, alone, listens to the recitation of this work with appreciation
Enough with your tributes for me. Now, write 13 lines saying Thank You, she said.
Om, my dear, cherished child, many thanks to you!
To this Divine child, I express my infinite gratitude
Thank You, Bala for being in my thought

    Section 501 to 600.
Sri Bala’s advice. (Upadesam or Arul Vaakku).

Love alone is sufficient in order to reach me
If you love everyone, respect will also arise
You must show respect and humility to elders
You must perform all your tasks with modesty
You should carry out beneficial and useful actions
You must perform household tasks without grumbling or complaining
Be of help to people around you
Please treat children in your house as deities deserving worship
There is no need to get angry with anyone
    Do not have endless desires
Unfulfilled desires alone lead to frustration and anger
Let us avert feelings of jealousy and resentment
Let us not compete to get forward or win in life
Only good thoughts will make us stand tall in society
From good thoughts, good words will spring forth
May peace and patience spread in your house
Allow your mind to be constantly absorbed in spiritual thoughts
Do cut out all your bad habits
Let the mind not wander; instead allow only good thoughts to enter your mind
Leaving aside worldly thoughts, may you seek me
For me to come to your side, I must first like you!
You must show me the same boundless love you display to dear ones in your family
Please understand, I don’t just exist in an idol or a photo
I’m not a beautiful object or item to be placed in a corner of your house
It is not enough for you to see me just once in the morning or evening
I will run all around your house
Don’t restrain me in just one room in your house
Don’t think you can light one lamp and place one little chocolate near me
I alone, protect you and your house
You have no idea of my cosmic powers
Don’t under estimate me as a little child
To attain me, you should think solely about me
You must constantly meditate on me
You should take me along with you, as a favorite child, wherever you go or travel
I’m not a colorful picture to be hung in your altar or place or worship
Understand, dear heart, I’m a Divine goddess, living with you!
You should experience Me, in your heart
You need my grace to understand me within you
    Always contemplate on me
Don’t fall into the clutches of evil thoughts! Beware!
When I’m around you, no evil power can come near you
Don’t perform black magic or cause evil effects for anyone using tantric practices or witchcraft
If you do not listen to my advice, you will never be able to see me
If you want me to manifest in your life, only perform those actions which I like
Place your faith in me. Understand, I alone, have unconditional love towards you!
I am the Divine child who seeks you out and comes to your house
Once I reach your house, you don’t need any other God to hold on to
I will transform your house into a temple
I alone am the kula deivam or protecting, family deity, for your household
If you believe in me, do you need any other God? Do you need to visit any other temple in your life time?
Why cannot you understand this truth?
Along with ten other Gods you worship, I will never become the 11TH God for you to pray!
I and I alone can reside in your heart
Truth is very simple. I will never sit in the hearts of those who cannot understand this fact
    Control your mind, first
    Don’t perform unnecessary rituals
Don’t undertake unnecessary fasts or abstain from food
There is no need to perform unnecessary atonements or remedies at temples
Astrologers and fake Gurus target only your money
Nadi astrologers will grab your money
Don’t visit several gurus and travel unnecessarily
Don’t listen to their advice, run around here and there, then get tired and collapse
Believe in me. Will I not help you?
I want only your total faith and surrender; that alone will please me.
Performing rites for ancestors and safe passage of their souls is very important and will give benefits
However, all these rites can be performed in a simple manner at home
In the world we live in today, everything, including rituals has become a big business
When you get older, there is no necessity to undertake long and arduous pilgrimages
    All desires should have limits
Upholding our rites and rituals according to our scriptures is important
However, as we grow older, let us set aside time only to contemplate on the philosophical truths mentioned in the Upanishads
As elders in a household, let us try and be helpful to family members
Let us not think only about our selfish interests
    Let us pray for others
    I will test you often!
I will grant you many boons
I will also curb your arrogance and ego
I will play many tricks on you
I will make you understand and experience me and slowly draw you closer to me
Don’t desire to see my physical form
You will obtain a glimpse of my form only at my command
Do not set your goal as seeing me in physical form
I’m not an object you can attain
Do not fight with me or be obstinate in what you want
You cannot tie me down in any place
I can jump into your mind and heart and then jump out of it as well
    Do not judge me
Whatever I give alone, is what you need or deserve
I have not come here to grant you all you desire or want!
Along with love, develop the virtue of patience
Come to me with the attitude of love and surrender
If I love you, I shall never let go of you
I will accomplish all my tasks using you as the medium
I will make your mind purer so you are eligible to do my tasks
I will bless you and shower grace upon you so you can always understand my true nature within your heart and remain absorbed in happiness, forever!
    This is my promise!

Her eyes are long and shaped like the attractive lotus petal or a fish

Bala is moving slowly as she approaches us
Let us get captivated by her beauty
She, who carries the entire Universe within her!
With her two, tender feet, Bala supports and protects this world of living creatures and galaxy of planets

You told us that one who has love in the heart, he /she alone can be called a “living” person. Without love, it is just a nonfunctioning body.
O goddess you instructed us that when loving words come directly from the heart, with no expectations or intentions, only such words can be termed, “sweet speech”
O goddess who reminded us it isn’t a virtue to forget the help given to us by people.
O bala, who told us even if we forget or overlook a few virtues, it might be possible to wipe out the bad effects of these actions. However, those who forget the sacrifice or help given them by others will have No life at all!
O goddess who instructed us to remain humble and modest. By practicing humility, we shall gain high status and fame in the heavenly abode!
O great goddess, who told us that one who wins over his senses and perfects sense control, will shine and radiate happiness, even if he/she were to take seven births, I offer my praises to you!
O Shree Bala, my teacher and my guide, a thousand salutations to you!
