English Meanings of Sri Bala Aruliya Guru Poornima Paadalgal

Santoshi Ma Bala
Sri Bala Aruliya Guru Poornima Paadalgal | Uma Kumar (2023)

Om Sri Bala Charanam.

On the eve of Guru Purnima, July 12th, 2022, Sri Bala blessed me to
write this wonderful set of 31 verses that she has titled as “Sri Bala
Aruliya Guru Purnima Paadalgal”.

These mystical and seemingly simple Tamil words, coming directly from
Sri Bala set forth the highest wisdom of the oneness between Jeeva and
Paramatma.

These words of pure love, longing and yearning to reach Sri Bala and sit
on her blessed lap, gives us a glimpse of both her unconditional love for
us as well as highlights the mental purity we should strive to possess in
order to even come closer to the supreme Godhead!

I wrote eleven verses of four lines each, on July 12th, 2022. Although I
speak and read Tamil, I have never before attempted to write any prose
or poetry in this divine language. So, it was with some trepidation I sat
down, with a notebook and pen in hand.

Sri Bala had instructed me to write verses in her praise. I hardly knew
where to start. I need not have feared. The moment I wrote Sri Bala
Charanam, words began to flow. Within a short space of time, eleven
verses were complete. She instructed me to finish the work the following
day, July 13th, 2022, which was actually Guru Purnima.

I had no idea how many verses would flow from Her Divine mouth, nor
how many days I would sit and write this work.

After a few more verses had been completed on July 13th, I realized
there would be 31 verses and the last set of verses from Verse 23 up to
31 would be her Viswaroopa Darshan.

She had asked me to write down on a slip of paper the Tamil words for
knees, legs and feet or Paadam.

The majesty of these would be described in the last few verses. The
ornaments, she wears with great delight, her role as the supreme creator
principle containing within herself this entire universe and all other
deities have also been described.

These sacred verses have been given to all of us directly by Bala to
ensure all her devotees attain wisdom, maturity to handle the
vicissitudes of life and particularly to attain that oneness with her during
our lifetime. The fear of death vanishes when she is beside us holding
our hands. No disease or harm can come near when she provides us
the good health and inner strength to bear all the outcomes in life.
Right at the beginning, in verse two, she indicates the advaitic
philosophy of oneness with her, achieved through loving her!

Reaching Her is a result of cultivating firm belief and complete surrender
at Her feet. In other words, accepting with unquestioning faith that all
events, good or bad, are given to us to bear for our spiritual growth and
evolution on the path leading to her.

In verse 7, the unique power of uttering her mantra is mentioned. The
word, Baala, has a mystical and tremendous power that has to be
experienced to understand!

Sri Bala has spoken about the impact of praying for those who are
undergoing suffering of any kind. This compassion, warmth and caring
are all important steps in making our hearts pure.

When we fill our hearts with that innocent and pure love, Sri Bala comes
to sit in our very own house, in the altar and talks to us in our minds!
It seems to me that these simple sounding verses written in easy flowing
Tamil pack the highest philosophy and indeed reveals the secret path
leading to visualizing and manifesting Her in our minds and hearts!
She is pervading this entire universe; She knows all of us and our
karmas in entirety!

In verse 12, she removes our fears of loneliness by promising to be at
our side at our last moments!

She reminds us of the transient nature of relationships and material
pleasures and points out She alone is our eternal support!

In fact the continuous refrain (Om Sri Bala, jaya jaya Bala, eppodhum,
ennidam irunthidum Bala) – indicates just that! She is always within us!
She is that kundalini shakthi (verse 16). She can bestow various siddhis.
However, warns us even these are temporary. We have to go beyond all
this to reach her feet!

In verses 17 and 18, she reiterates the cycle of birth and death will
continue endlessly unless we attain jnana or the wisdom to know our
true nature!

Not all the things we crave and desire in this worldly life are necessarily
beneficial. She alone is the goal to be attained!

In verse 19, is there is a request from us as loyal and true devotees to
breathe our last breath lying on her lap! This is an indication of merging
completely within Her so we are liberated from future births!

In verse 22, she indicates Her presence within us as the Divine glow of
Shakthi or pure energy. All other deities are but mere reflections of Her!
She is our very heart beat, and every beat of the pulse cries out Her
name Bala! You are within me!

Verses 23 to 31 indicate her Viratswaroopam.

While each verse is unique, my favorite is verse 28! The imagery she
has given here is that we are all the tiny gold dots that glisten like stars
in the deep blue skirt she wears.

Like a huge Kolam or pattern, she links all of us and raises us to her
abode!

The final verse has to be read as printed. A few lines have to be read
three times. She has indicated her preference for white jasmine as well
as pink, sweet smelling roses to be used in her worship.

Dear Sri Bala, who has so much compassion, has provided these
wonderful set of 31 verses to elevate each and every one of us so we
can eternally shine as the ornaments she wears!

Let us all dive into this ocean of sweet nectar, get relief from all our
sorrow and distress and fill our hearts with that permanent bliss which is
Sri Bala!

Verse 1

O Sri Bala, the very essence of Pranava or the
cosmic, life force!

I offer my humble salutations at your victorious feet!
You are eternally with me and within me, as my very life breath.
You are my Guru as well as a Divine little child who takes great
delight in playing with me.

Many a mischievous prank does Sri Bala play in all our lives.
Many are the mystical wonders and miracles does she perform.
She laughs at our wonderment since it is but a sport for Her.

To such a Divine child, Bala, who is ever present in my life, I
offer my salutations!

Verse 2

O Sri Bala whose eyes are brimming with love and
compassion,

You are always reassuring me, “ I will protect you; I will always
be beside you, shielding you!

You are not different from me; I am within you and You are
within me”.

This lofty philosophical, Vedantic truth about the “oneness” of
the Jeeva and Paramatma, Shri Bala reveals to us in these
very simple Tamil words.

She makes us aware that wherever we go, she will come with
us as a constant companion and supreme guide and teacher!
Indeed, she protects us and nurtures us at all times!

These first two verses reveal the highest philosophy of the
Upanishads. Yet, almost like the play of a child, Sri Bala makes
us aware of this union with her in a simple manner.

Verse 3

I will arise in your mind in the form of thoughts and
through you, this song will be born, says Shri Bala.
Shri Bala is the creator of this entire universe. On her lap sits
Maha Ganapathi who removes all the obstacles on our path to
enter the spiritual realm.

Maha Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth is seated on Shri Bala’s
right thigh! With a mere glance, she grants us all our boons and
bestows worldly riches. Yet, her very glance transforms us from
within and makes us aware that the ultimate goal in life is to
seek union with Bala through loving her!

In short, Bala is the creator of this Universe. She is all
pervading and existent in this whole creation. All other deities
like Maha Ganapathi and Maha Lakshmi, reside within Her!

Verse 4

Sri Bala has blessed us with this song for the sole
reason that I should ever and always be seated at her blessed
feet, immersed in Her mantra japam and constantly singing Her
praises!

My very beloved Bala, you have transformed even an ignorant
person like me and enabled me to write poems in your praise!

Verse 5

“I shall dictate this song and you write it down”. This
loving command was given by Bala and indeed on the
auspicious day of Guru Purnima, this song was given!

Whosoever sings these verses with true devotion and love shall
reach me, in my own special world, where they shall
permanently reside with me, says Bala.

Verse 6

I shall place my head beneath her sacred feet, so I
can receive her blessings!

Sri Bala who is ever present at my heart center, showers her
blessings on all of us!

May all your manifold desires and actions get fulfilled by Sri
Bala’s grace because it is only with her blessings and grace we
can even approach Her and seek for her love!

The importance of our karmic actions influencing our current
status is highlighted here! It is only with Bala’s permission and
blessings that we can get closer to Her!

Verse 7

The very word “Bala” is a very powerful mantra that we should constantly chant in our minds so that it becomes our very breath itself!

When Bala is constantly in our thoughts and minds, she will
constantly guide us in all our actions. She will take her
permanent abode in the lotus center of our heart and dance
delightfully, revealing her true self in everything in this world.

In other words, Bala pervades all the animate and inanimate
objects in this universe, including in the space between them.
She is immanent in every blessed aspect of creation.

Verse 7 is indeed a reflection of the highest truths or
mahaVakiyam of the Upanishads that establishes the oneness
between individual souls and the ever present and all
pervading Atman or Supreme consciousness. Sri Bala is ever
present within us as that awareness principle. The ever present
witness of our thoughts and actions.

Verse 8

Whenever people around you, in your orbit are
stricken with grief, suffering, ill health or going through a
downturn in their lives, if you sing this song given by Bala, with
true and heartfelt love compassion , I shall embrace these
suffering people , hold them close to me and give them a better
path in life!

And, when those who are in distress are at the end of their
lives, I shall bring them closer to me in my own shining world.
Verse 8 points out very clearly that we are linked to various
people in the course of our lives and this has been pre
determined. So too, our karmic burdens determine if this
current life we lead is the final one before liberation.

However, when our lives are enriched by Bala, we gain the
wisdom and discrimination to be firmly placed on the spiritual
path and this in turn brings the cycle of birth and death to an
end. We shall reach our final destination which is Sri Bala!

Verse 9

Powerful words in this verse as the Divine Child self
proclaims nothing can match or compare with songs in praise
of her, as a means of attaining Her Grace.

Bala says here that when you pray to her with utmost, heartfelt
sincerity and love, she will be so happy and pleased that she
will shower you with whatever your desires are. In fact, Bala
says “will I ever discard or disregard those who come and bow
at my feet with such great respect and sing hymns in praise of
me?”

“All you need is LOVE, to reach me”, says Bala. This seems
easy and simple enough. However, not many have love and
compassion towards humanity. We must have compassion for
those who are suffering, help those who are downtrodden and
in despair. Only by sowing the seeds of love can Bala sow
within us the seeds of transformation so we can gain a pure
mind. For, it is only those pure, loving and helpful souls who are
dearest to Bala!

Divinity is love and only through Love you can reach Bala.
Once you achieve this pure state of existence, I shall come and
play with you, says Bala. The word “play” or “Lela” is especially
significant for those who have experienced the various
mischievous ways in which Bala continuously tests our faith
and our true love for her!

Verse 10

I came to sit in your puja room. When you light the
lamps in the altar, I shall talk through the tongues of flickering
flames! I shall talk and You will be aware of this!

Indeed, this is a miracle Bala has performed in my puja room at
home. She has transformed the holy space into her temple and
through the crackling sounds of the flickering lamps, many a
message has Bala sent me. However, for this to happen, one
should be able to resonate at a higher frequency.

A very selfish, materialistic person will not be able to grasp the
significance of this verse.

From that day when she entered my house, until the present,
She is the one who speaks to me. You are indeed my loving
mother as well as my loving child, O Sri Bala!

Verse 11

I see everything and everyone in this world. I am
the omnipresent one! I know what people are thinking as well
as their actions. Indeed, bala is saying here that we cannot
hope to deceive Her by confessing to love her when we do not!
It is only when you totally and truthfully yearn for Her love,
when you are totally engrossed in her thought at all times, can
you come closer to her and hope to surrender at her feet.

For those few, fortunate souls who have truly surrendered at
her feet, bala promises that they will surely attain her (world). At
the end of their lives, such blessed souls will most certainly
reach me, proclaims Bala!

Verse 12

What a beautiful and powerful verse this is!

Having experienced the presence of Bala in Turiya state, I can
certainly vouch that this verse 12, stands out as a gem in this
set of 31 verses that Bala has given for our appreciation,
delight and in order to bless us all.

At night, when you are all alone, she says, “I will come and
sleep beside you. I shall never desert you for a single moment.
I am there for you during both the waking state as well as the
sleep state. Beyond this, in your dream state too, I am guarding
you from those frightening nightmares!

When you have no one to confide in, when you don’t have a
single friend in this world you can trust, I am there for you!
Treat me as someone SPECIAL, and I will make you close to
me. I will hold your hands when you are afraid “.

This is so true! Many times, I have experienced her physical
presence in bed beside me. So many times I have felt those
soft and tender little hands clasp mine with love!

During those moments when I could not see you, Bala, I have
cried out in great distress, pain and anguish. Yet, you came
running, skipping towards me, with your anklets jingling a merry
tune! Indeed, I could hear you skipping with delight, jumping
into my arms and holding me tight!

Similarly, at the end of my life on earth, will you not come, with
these same anklets jingling? Will you not come skipping and
hopping, remove all traces of fear from me, hold my hand and
lead me to your shining world?

In fact, you will take me with you. There is neither doubt nor
fear in my mind. It is a definite statement made with that certain
and true knowledge that when one yearns for Bala so much,
She will surely be with you always!

Verse 13

Many are the wondrous, incredulous and
miraculous experiences you have given me, O Bala!
You are my Special Goddess, my teacher and my Guru.

Therefore, if I say you are everything to me, these words are
not in excess as mere words pale into insignificance before
your matchless glory that can only be experienced, never
spoken about!

Oh Bala, you are my life, my breath and my end (goal) in this
world!

Verse 14

Yet again, a seemingly simple verse that packs in a
lot of meaning!

Sri Bala makes us contemplate the highest philosophical truths
regarding worldly relationships and the true value of material
possessions. The truth is that everything in this world that we
crave or desire can never give long lasting or infinite happiness.
The reason is that all things of the material world are subject to
decay and will perish at some point. So, it seems we run after
worldly pleasures, trying to get that permanent happiness when
by their very finite nature, these objects are limited in value!

Sri Bala wants us to understand that this unconditional love we
expect from other human beings can never be obtained.
Indeed, she is the only source of happiness. Completely
surrendering at Her feet , with pure love is the only sure way of
remaining blissfully and eternally happy!

Bala says “I am the eternal source of creation. Only I am
capable of granting you that love and happiness you crave! I
am everything in this creation. Come towards me and hold my
hands. I shall guide you step by step into my shining world. I
shall never desert you nor abandon you. Come to me, walk with
me. That Heavenly abode is also within me!

Here is a promise from Bala that she will take care of us not
only in this lifetime but also in the after world after our bodies
drop! However, the only condition is that we approach her with
love and not for mere fulfillment of worldly desires!

Verse 15

Oh Bala, can I ever forget that memorable night
when you appeared before me, stroked my cheek, held my
hands and assured me of your love by giving me an embrace?
You promised me then that you would never leave me; you
would eternally be with me!

How can I ever forget that marvelous sojourn into your abode,
Shri Bala? You made it seem so simple to enter your shining
world where no negativities exist.

Indeed, you have entered our household as my first
granddaughter.

The very essence of this verse is to highlight the pure love and
innocence which children possess, something we tend to lose
as we grow up into adulthood. Sri bala exists eternally as a little
child in our hearts and all She expects from us is only that
unconditional attitude of surrender and love devoid of
expectations!

Verse 16

Oh Shri Bala, you are indeed that Kundalini Shakthi
or Para Shakthi who resides within all of us. The Siddhars
worshipped Bala as Vaalai or a young girl, which was just a
personification of this Divine power existent within all human
beings.

This dormant power that is latent within us, will be activated
automatically at the right moment in our lives, based on our
karmic past. From personal experience, I can reveal that this
power was “awakened” within me in the year 2011 through a
series of electrifying experiences that made me totally aware “I”
was not this body and form!

Many, were the wondrous sights I witnessed and sounds I
heard and holy people that I met in this transcendental state!
All I was aware of was my body was undergoing many
changes, each and every cell being rewired so I could be a
vehicle capable of transmitting Sri Bala’s grace!

Astonishing as these sequence of events were, every time I
would step back and look at myself objectively to see if there
was any transformation at the mental level!

Finally, I understood that disregarding the magical powers or
siddhis one might acquire along the way ( clairvoyance, ability
to fly, mind reading, etc), none of these were important!

What is significant is that our minds should be rejuvenated.
Compassion, caring, warmth and love towards all and a helping
attitude is important!

So, in this verse, Bala is expressing just this! She says, Only I
am permanent, hold on to me. Do not get distracted by powers
and siddhis or the riches associated in this material world!

This truth you have told me, Shri Bala. Crores of prostrations
at your holy feet!

Verse 17

In this verses, Bala is reiterating that your body or
this human life is impermanent. Nothing in this world is
permanent as they are all transient, subject to decay and will
certainly perish over time.

Bala alone is the Real power, the substratum or pure
consciousness that empowers all of us! Just as the stage in a
theatre provides the base on which actors dance, sing and act
out their roles, so too in this life, we are all carrying out various
roles, supported and blessed by Her!

Hence, let go of all your worldly worries, petty problems and
expectations!

Hold on to my feet, says bala! Surrender at my feet will remove
all your misery and unhappiness.

Bala does not say that by coming to her we will become happy,
miraculously. What we have to clearly understand is that
coming to bala, becoming pure in mind, will give us the wisdom
to accept the ups and downs of life.

We will gain the detachment to meet life’s many challenges
without getting disheartened. Finally, in the end, we will be able
to enter Her Shining world and reside permanently with her,
escaping from the cycle of birth and death!

So, at the end of this verse, Bala says, “ believe me and hold
on to my feet. I will ensure you are eternally happy in my
world”!

Verse 18

In this verse, Sri Bala reminds us that not all we
desire for or want fulfilled in our lives, are necessarily for our
benefit!

She says “I can hear your manifold prayers, requests and
wishes. However, granting all that you crave for or fulfilling all
your desires is not always beneficial for you”!

Indeed, Bala as the supreme Creator, knows the grand master
plan exactly as it must unfold in our lives. Of course, we do
have our free will and must strive to put in our efforts to reach
our goals. However, belief in Bala and surrendering at her feet
will ensure that only those goals that are good for us will
fructify, with her grace.

In fact, Bala reminds us in this verse that even our belief in Her
and our attempts in reaching Her are not solely acts of our free
will, but it is only with her grace and our good karma that we
can even approach Her!

Once again, Shri Bala reminds us all to accept the outcomes in
life as Prasad am or holy offerings from her and take these
outcomes without grumbling, or getting angry with her!

After all, if we didn’t have downturns and calamities in life,
would we ever think of God or develop a spiritual attitude?

Verse 19

This verse brings out the common mistake many of
us make in not realizing the awesome power of Sri Bala. Most
of us might think that approaching a Child Goddess is easier, or
that Her sadhana is very simple. She is after all a little child
who loves songs in her praise and sweet chocolates as
neivedyam or offerings!

Yet, as we approach this little child, who smiles at us
affectionately yet, mischievously, we are awestruck by the fact
that this child is indeed the creator of the entire universe!
All other deities exist within her!

The planets are at her feet and the five elements are indeed
her creation. This aspect of Her viswaroopam is at once
humbling and astonishing!

Also, it is a reminder to approach Bala with caution and pure
love!

Here is a Goddess who grants boons within a twinkling of a
second. Yet, if She is displeased with you for some reason,
your requests may never, ever be granted!

Everything with Bala is spontaneous! She gives her love
spontaneously; she can also vanish from you without trace!

Hence, Sri Bala, I understand your full significance as a loving
child and mother, as a Guru and my guide!

Without you, I am nonexistent!

My only wish is to breathe my last breath lying on your lap!

This boon, I ask of you, my Divine mother! Please grant this to
me!

Verse 20

Many decades ago, almost like a playful prank, you
asked me to start drawing and painting.

Later, you told me “ Don’t forget, I alone, gave you this ability to
depict various deities through your paintings! All those paintings
belong to me”!

Without questioning, I gave away all my (your) precious work
so they could always be with you in Nemili.

I thought I understood you that day, many years ago, SRI Bala.
However, it is only today I comprehend fully the vast and deep
affection you have for me and how you have taken me step by
step with such great compassion, so I can hear your voice!

You have never abandoned me. You have always given me the
confidence to move ahead in life despite many challenges. You
have protected me from harm and distractions along the
spiritual path and today, you have made me your true
instrument through whom others can hear your Divine glory!

Verse 21

This is a powerful verse which teaches us to be
detached in life to both insults as well as praise from others!

When Shri Bala is my guide, I will not be mentally disturbed or
upset by people around me speaking ill of me or gossiping
behind my back. If I am focused solely on Bala and have firm
faith, I will never be affected by the harsh, hurtful words from
family members or people around me.

The world might laugh and mock at me, family can shun me,
those whom I think are my friends prove to be false as they are
seeking to fulfill their own agenda using me!

Bala inside me is aware of everything! She brings some people
to me and takes a few others away. Those who are truly
sincere and good, Bala makes them stay on for a while. Those
who have evil intentions towards me, Bala disposes them off
permanently, especially, if they have not paid heed to her many
warnings.

The main take away from this verses is that once you truly
come to Bala, you might never know the true intentions or
character of people around you. All you have to do is to stay
rooted in Bala. She will protect you, ward off all dangers and
remove those evil people from your path!

No harm can reach you, wicked people will never cross your
path, no calamity can befall you if Bala is within you!

Verse 22

When I wrote down this verse, I was doing it almost
mechanically since it was being “dictated” by Sri Bala.
However, today, when I’m writing down the meanings, I am
completely blown away by the significance of these lines and
completely overwhelmed by the fact that Bala has revealed
regarding the “oneness” with myself!!!

She is that Jyothi or light glowing inside me. She is the Truth
that manifests as Goddess bhuvaneshwari, kaali or Karumaari!
In fact, all these deities have guided me in the early stages
through visions and in dreams. It took me a long time to
understand they were all just projections of Shri bala!

People in this world may never truly understand me nor see
that glowing splendor of Bala who is within me! Yet, none of
this bothers me. I do not pay heed to the reactions of people in
this world, because She is there, at all times within me!

You are there within me Bala, whispering in my ears “You are
that Bala whom you love”!

You are Me! This is the greatest truth Bala revealed to me on
gurupoornima day, July 13th, 2022!

When the deity you worship becomes one with you, is there
anything else you need? Is there any need for further
confirmation?

This verse gives hope and strength to a lot of fellow spiritual
seekers like myself who are trying to develop one pointed
concentration to the external forms they love so dearly!
Om Sri Bala!

VERSE 23 to 31 ( Sri Bala viswaroopam).

Verse 23

To witness the glory of Sri Bala’s viswaroopam or
Her entire form, encompassing the whole creation, all one has
to do is to meditate on Sri Bala’s form as a child, in the ajna
center. This spot, in the center of the two eyes is a mystical
place, a doorway to her shining world!

As we drink in the beauty of this Divine child, starting from her
hair, the adorable forehead, the lustrous face, sparkling eyes
and that enigmatic smile on her lips, one is carried away
completely into Her world. As we gaze into her deep,
fathomless eyes, we lose complete consciousness!

It is here that the mystical journey begins!

Even as we melt into the blackness of her eyes, like the kaajal
or black eye liner she has used, Bala opens her lips ever so
slightly. Her bright, white and pearly teeth seem to be revealed
slowly as her smile widens! What wonders can she show us?

Verse 24

As our gaze shifts down from her wondrous face
and comes down the slender, stalk-like neck, the first thing we
see are the string of pearls Bala wears around her neck. In fact,
Sri Bala’s favorite necklace is that made of pearls! Shining like
the eternal Truth, these pearls teach us the importance of being
in total sync with our thoughts, words and deeds! Leading a
truthful life and loving Bala can get rid of the most stubborn
Karmas we have accumulated in past lives!

The next ornament to embellish her chest is a rope of
precious, green, emeralds!

These shining gems remind us that purity of mind and actions,
alone, can enable us to get closer to Bala. Indeed, many a
mischievous trick does she play to keep us near her!

Verse 25

The different colored gem bracelets that this Divine
child wears on her hands, seem to compete with each other to
seek her attention! The many bangles adorning her hands rub
against each other as Bala jumps and runs around, jingling a
merry tune. Visualizing this child decorated in all her ornaments
and running towards us, bracelets singing happily, will surely
usher in all happiness and fulfillment in our lives!

Encircling her tiny waist is a shining, golden belt with dainty
bells dancing and swaying to and fro as Bala happily dances in
our hearts!

Almost, as if She is asking us “shall we dance together, you
and!?”

Blessed indeed are we to see Her in our mind’s eyes!

Verse 26

Once again, our gaze turns upwards to Her divine
face! We can now see clearly, the diamond-studded jimikis she
wears in her ears, moving ever so slightly as she turns her
head!

The Jimikkis or ear drops are joined to her earrings and in turn
these are linked to the hair above by a row of upright, ruby
embellished chain called maattal!

It seems that these maattals which are instrumental in keeping
the earring from drooping down due to the heavy weight of the
earrings are symbolic of raising all mortal souls, and taking us
higher, closer to Bala!

This Divine child whose beauty and glory can never be
described, bears the sun and moon in her tresses! In fact, She
reminds us that all the five elements are Her creations. The
universe, planetary system and Pancha boothams (space, air,
fire, water and earth) all exist in her!

Verse 27

Like a tumultuous waterfall, her dark black braid falls
over Bala’s left shoulder and tumbles down rapidly only to have
a soft landing on Her divine lap, bound by the tassels that hold
them back!

Bala proclaims that all those pure and good souls who are
fortunate to be seated on her lap (those whom she loves the
most), will surely sparkle, eternally as the splendid ornaments
she chooses to wear!

In other words, those who are pure at heart and mind are
blessed by Bala and shall shine like her stars (ornaments) in
Her shining world!

Verse 28

In this verse, the imagery of stars shining in a dark,
blue sky is compared to the little gold dots that embellish the
deep blue pavadai or skirt worn by the Divine Child. While
telling us that those whom she loves will adorn her like
ornaments, Sri Bala, in this verse brings us all together and
links us with her in a very intricate pattern (manner)!

Bala’s devotees are compared to the shiny , gold dots on her
skirt. Sri Bala links us all together and brings us up to connect
with Her, ultimately. In other words, there is no gap or space
between individual jeevas and her!

We are all within Her!

Her face glowing like the early morning, rosy hue of dawn, Sri
Bala gives Her assurance in this verse that She will never
forasake those who have surrendered completely at Her feet!

Verse 29

In this verse, the significance of the divine child’s
knees are highlighted. Bala’s tender, soft and delicate knees
are covered and hidden from view by her billowing skirt. Just as
the knees and legs support us to stand and move, Sri Bala
endows us all with the Kriya shakthi so our thoughts, intentions
and speech can be converted into action with Her blessings!

As we get closer to Bala, She always tests us to see if our love,
faith and surrender in her is firm and unshakeable! Once, she is
satisfied of our unconditional Love, we shall always be with her
in this lifetime and in the after world!

Verse 30

With Her two, tender feet, Sri Bala supports this
entire Universe!

She is the giver of good health, energy and strength so our
