Meaning.

Oh Divine child, Sri Bala, my prostrations at your hallowed feet.
Oh Bala, who assumes the form of a parrot, who listens to all our worldly woes and gives solace.
Oh Bala, the goddess of supreme truth, the most enlightening spark of light!
Oh most wondrous peacock, I bow to you in adoration!

Om Bala Jaya Om Balambikkaiye!
Hail to most victorious Bala who is both a child and loving Mother!
( this refrain to be repeated four times at the end of each verse).

The Armor of Lord Ganesha.
Oh Lord Ganesha who is loved by all,
who is the ruler of all the nine planets. I surrender at your feet with humility. Please bestow your boon on me! May you bless this composition I have undertaken and lead me to Sri Bala who shines resplendently, adorned by the the nine planets, she wears around her neck as sparkling gemstones!

(Please note in all these verses describing the planetary influences and their characteristics, Sri Bala has been described as a personification of the planets. Indeed, She is the source of all creation).

The Planet Venus ( gemstone Diamond).

Oh, imperishable treasure! Oh, invincible one!
Valour and courage are your main strengths.

Oh great planet God, Shukra (VENUS)
You shine like a diamond star; may you please bestow prosperity in our lives.
Dear Bala, we pray to you! May you, (as creator of all planets), give us a fulfilled and happy life!
May you heap on us, love, a contented family life, good values and endless riches!
May you, dear Bala, transform us, impart good values and lead us on the path to liberation.
Oh Bala, you are the inevitable thunderbolt that cuts down all wicked people. However, you dance in the hearts of the good people as goddess Mahalakshmi, the bestower of luck and good fortune.

The Planet Saturn (Blue Sapphire).

(In this verse also, Sri Bala is indeed an embodiment of Lord Saturn. Blue sapphire and blue garments are the hall mark of this planet, Saturn whose vehicle is a crow. He is also fond of being worshipped by blue flowers.)

Oh Sree Bala, you are more precious and priceless than blue sapphire! We worship you with the blue flowers loved by the planet God Saturn. Oh Bala, who is bedecked in blue garments, please reduce the malevolent influences caused by the transit of Saturn in our lives!
Oh Bala, you are the support and companion of those who uphold dharmic values, think kind thoughts and are of service to humanity.
Oh Bala, you are the ocean of compassion, the nectar of grace, worshipped by those who are undergoing misfortunes in life (e.g., Drowpadhi, the wife of the pandavas).
Oh, fierce flame, who cuts asunder the wheel of time. Oh Bala, adorned with blue gems ,please liberate us from all sorrow!
Oh Bala, the embodiment of the planet Saturn, you are the ruler of those born under the moon signs of Makara (Capricorn) and Kumbam (Aquarius). You are pleased with offerings of sesame seeds, sesame oil and mixed rice. May you, dear one, teach us stern lessons in life that will enable us to transform internally and tread the right, spiritual path to attain salvation.
Oh, great Goddess who glows as the dark hued, Kali, who sanctifies the crow used as a vehicle by Saturn. Oh Bala who blesses this son of Chayaa Devi ( Chayaa Devi is the Goddess of shadows, considered as mother of Shani Bagavan), please confer on us your eternal protection. The Planet God Moon (Gemstone -Pearl).

Oh Bala who glitters like the full moon during the autumnal season! Even that glorious full moon comes to worship at your feet!
Oh Bala, you are the ruler of the planet God Moon, who is the ruler of the stars as Tareshan! You are ever present in the hearts of good and noble souls.
Oh, Divine child, you are the great healer, since you have created the Moon, known for its therapeutic properties, giving life to medicinal plants and herbs!
You are the sister of Lord Vishnu. Veritably, you as the planet Moon, enable peace and a happy relationship to prevail in family life!

Oh Bala, you are the ruler of the weekday, Tuesday ,
( Sevvai). You bestow good prosperity, and you alone are the main energy source or Shakthi for Angarakan (Mars). Oh, Divine child, you are indeed the loving Mother, the earth Goddess who gave birth to Lord Mars!
Oh Divine Goddess, you are the wish fulfilling Kalpa tree in our lives! In the aspect of Mars, you are the ruler of the houses of Scorpion and Aries!
Oh, Divine child, whose body glows like red coral, who emits great luster and has a smiling countenance. You have appeared in this world to protect all of us, bearing a trident and spear in your hands to overwhelm evil forces!

Oh Bala, who is the energy giver of the Sun, you are the cause and effect permeating this shining Universe!
You are the brilliant glory illuminating the world, you are the ruler of the sun sign, Leo!
You are the giver of good health and strength and the remover of all diseases, dear Bala!
You are the crest jewel of all the nine planets, the brilliant ruby, that destroys all sins and ignorance with its thousand dazzling rays!
Oh golden hued goddess, who is worshipped by all saints and the wise and learned people, you are indeed the witness, awareness, supreme consciousness principle!

Oh, source of all Music, you are the essence of all Vedas (scriptures). You are the origin of all the arts, melody and dance!

The Planet Jupiter ( Gemstone- Yellow Sapphire).

Oh Ruler of all the planets, grandson of Lord Brahma, preceptor of all the Divine, celestial Devas, one who is possessed with lots of strength!
Oh Lord Brihaspathi ( Jupiter) , please come to light up our lives, Oh wielder of the thunderbolt, the Ruler of speech and communication, we prostrate your feet in great adoration!
Lord Jupiter, who blesses us with offspring. You are the ruler of educational pursuits, the giver of discrimination and wisdom, we bow to you.
Oh Lord, the reigning monarch of the weekday, Thursday, you are the ruler of the houses Sagittarius and Pisces.

The planet who is headless, bearing the lower body half of a demon, the one who has the tail of a serpent, the one who causes eclipses of the Sun and Moon.
